Strikeforce officially announced today that they had struck a network television deal with CBS. A portion of Strikeforce cards will be broadcast on CBS. The first CBS broadcasted card will take place on Novermber 7th and will be headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Fedor Emelianenko (30-1-0) vs Brett Rogers (10-0-0). Fedor, who many consider the best heavyweight in the world, is likely looking forward to his first of three fights with Strikeforce. Rogers earned his shot at Fedor when he defeated Andrei Arlovski quicker than Fedor.

Shonie Carter (47-19-7) will face off against former UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Newton (14-13-0) at W-1: High Voltage on October 10 at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec. The two will square off for the W1 Welterweight Title. Tickets are currently available at Ticket Master.com. The co-main event of the evening is a scrap between Adrian Wooley (5-1-0) and Remi Morvan (6-0-0).

Inside Fights is reporting that Randy "The Natural" Couture (16-10) could receive a title shot if he was to beat Brandon Vera (11-3) was UFC 105. The Ultimate Fighting Championship was desperate for a main event fight for UFC 105. They went through many different possible match ups and eventually landed on Randy Couture and Brandon Vera.
