Affliction 2 Rescheduled

Affliction's second mixed martial arts card was previously scheduled for October 11th. The event has now been rescheduled for January of next year. Advertisement had already started showing up on race cars and on the internet. The sudden change is very strange indeed. Is this a sign that Affliction understands the true drawing power of Fedor Emelianenko? Although Fedor has not yet been given an opponent it has been stated that he will not compete on the update card. Fedor is the major draw for Affliction. Without Fedor the newly formed mixed martial arts promotion would suffer significantly.

What now for Chuck Liddell?

After the brutal knockout loss to Rashad Evans this weekend at UFC 88, Chuck Liddell will likely take a leap backwards in his journey towards another title run. Yahoo! Sports reports that the knockout loss set off a chain reaction. I would have to agree. People are really starting to doubt Chuck Liddell. Keyboard warriors and journalist alike claim the former UFC light heavyweight champion known for his knockout power will need to use more tools from his tool box. Have these dudes ever been ground and pounded senseless?

Evan Tanner Dead

Evan Tanner Dead? Evan Tanner the former UFC middle weight champion has died. Tanner had a UFC Record of 12-5. Tanner apparently told friends he was going to go treasure hunting. He claimed he was going to go so dead that he could possibly die. A search went underway after Tanner was reported missing and his body was found a short time later. Rest in peace Champ! Tanner never trashed talked and always gave one hundred percent. Seemed like a very nice guy.

Rashad's win results in title shot opportunity

After Rashad "Sugar" Evans' shocking knockout of Chuck Liddell at UFC 88, Dana White said he will give Rashad a title shot. Remember though there has been many times when a title shot was given and then taken away. I honestly don't think he has done enough to earn a title shot yet. He has only beat one fight within the top ten in the light heavyweight ranking. Jardine did the same exact thing with no avail. Rashad was unable to beat Tito Ortiz.

Chuck Liddell drops to Rashad Evans at UFC 88

Where do I start? Rashad danced, showboated and got the knockout victory in the second round adding another clip to his highlight reel. I felt really bad for Chuck. Rampage seemed really happy though. At least we know Chuck is going to pull a Rampage and kill a fetus. Chuck is a man and he knows how to handle his losses by getting drunk probably. Don't start will all the talk about Chuck needing to retire. Chuck will retire when he feels damn ready to retire. Rashad got a nice ko victory but he looked like an ass inside the ring thanks to his attitude.

Yahoo! Sports: Liddell looked washed up last year?

Why is Yahoo! Sports claiming Chuck Liddell looked washed up last year? Maybe he wasn't as dedicated against Jardine but Keith has beat some of the best. A loss to Rampage Jackson and a loss to Jardine doesn't make you look washed up in my opinion. Rampage Jackson has had a very good run in the UFC despite his recent fight which was very close. Jackson beat two of the best fighters, Chuck Liddell and Dan Henderson, in the light heavyweight division. Jardine beat two of the best light heavyweights, Liddell and Forrest Griffin, as well.

UFC 88: Liddell or Evans?

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell is arguably the most popular figure in mixed martial arts. Rashad "Sugar" Evans is one of the few fighters in the UFC still maintaining a perfect record despite one draw with former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. This fight will be much different for Rashad than his previous fight with Ortiz. And for Liddell Evans sure ain't no Wanderlei Silva. So whose got the edge in this fight? Will Liddell's legendary stand up be too much for the unbeaten Evans? Or will Evans' wrestling take him to a decision win over the Iceman?

The Natural Is Back

It's finally official! Randy "The Natural" Couture is back in the UFC after a long layoff and several movie roles. The former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion will make his official return at UFC 91 which he faces off with the next big thing, Brock Lesnar. If Couture wants to one day fight Fedor Emelianenko he needs to first get past Lesnar. Brock showed much improvement during his recent bout with Heath Herring. The pure size and strength of Lesnar can prove to be a threat to the best of the best.
